SUMMARY:Kellie Oliver Photography Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Take a peek behind the lens Saturday\, September 12th from 6 PM to 8 PM during Kellie Oliver’s Inaugural Photography Showcase! During this free event\, guests are invited to Curate Workspace in Downtown Dublin for an evening celebrating local photography. Browse Kellie Oliver’s award-winning collection\, meet the artist\, discover the stories behind some of her favorite images\, and shop a selection of photographs available for purchase. \nAward Winning Focus\nWhile Kellie has become well known for documenting life around Dublin\, her photography has earned recognition far beyond Laurens County. She has received numerous domestic and international awards for her wildlife and macro photography and has been recognized at the Georgia National Fair for the past four consecutive years\, including earning Best Overall honors. Her work reflects both technical excellence and an appreciation for the beauty found in everyday moments. \nBehind The Lens\nKnown for her authentic style\, Kellie specializes in capturing life as it naturally unfolds. Whether photographing a downtown festival\, a quiet morning in nature\, or wildlife in its habitat\, she prefers genuine moments over staged scenes. That ability to tell the story of a place through photography is exactly what led Visit Dublin GA to partner with her to help showcase Dublin and Laurens County through a local photographer’s perspective. \nSnapshot Of Dublin\nKellie is passionate about supporting the community she calls home. On many Saturday mornings\, you’ll find her shopping the Downtown Dublin Farmers Market\, supporting local growers\, makers\, and small businesses while connecting with friends and neighbors. Her inaugural showcase continues that commitment by highlighting several local women-owned businesses. The event will be hosted at Curate Workspace\, while Mission Bake Shoppe will offer coffee\, desserts\, and baked treats\, and Elevated Eatery serving fresh juices and light bites available for purchase throughout the evening. By attending\, guests will not only experience exceptional local photography but also support several small businesses that help make Dublin special. \nPhoto Credit: fellow local photographer and friend Trent McAdams

SUMMARY:Constitution Day Liberty Tree Planting in Dublin GA
DESCRIPTION:Constitution Day\, Thursday September 17th at 2 PM\, Dublin will celebrate America’s 250th by putting down legacy roots in Mayor Grady Wright Park. Join the John Laurens Chapter NSDAR\, City of Dublin\, Erin Garden Club\, and community partners for the dedication of three distinctive Franklinia “Liberty Trees”. \nAn America Story\nThe Franklinia tree is a remarkable piece of Georgia’s natural heritage. Native to the Altamaha River region\, the tree was named Franklinia in honor of a friendship with Benjamin Franklin\, with the name also playing off the Altamaha where it was discovered in 1773. Last seen in the wild in 1803\, the species survives today through cultivation\, a testament to preservation and stewardship. After extensive preparation\, these special trees are traveling from a nursery in Tucker\, Georgia and will become a lasting part of Dublin’s landscape. As a Tree City USA community for twenty-six years\, Dublin is honored to help preserve this piece of Georgia history while creating something future generations can enjoy. \nPlanting History and Growing the Future\nThe tree planting ceremony will also feature a presentation by Dr. Heather Gladfelter of the University of Georgia\, whose groundbreaking research has explored the genetics and conservation of the Franklin tree\, and a patriotic performance by the Trinity Christian School Honor Choir. This free community event is presented by the John Laurens Chapter\, NSDAR\, in partnership with the City of Dublin\, Erin Garden Club\, and trees provided by Home 2 Suites by Hilton Corporation. \nThis event is one of several special Constitution Day events happening in Dublin\, GA! Also on September 17th\, be sure to join Bells Across America\, and Dublin’s Top 10 For The 250 with Scott Thompson.
