Check it out Here! \nRiverview Golf Course\nBordering the Oconee River\, Riverview Park Golf Course in Dublin\, GA is an 18-hole public golf course located minutes off 1-16 at exit 54. Opened in 1977\, Riverview features 6\,161 yards of golf on lush Bermuda with a par of 72\, with a pro shop\, cart and club rentals\, and lessons. Riverview Park Golf Course measures 6\,168 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 123 and a 69.8 USGA rating. The course features three sets of tees for different skill levels. \nRiverview Golf Course is also the site of The Emery Thomas Auditorium\, which was built in 1956 as an addition to the Dublin 4-H Center for African American youth\, which was established approximately 16 years earlier. Named for Emery C. Thomas\, Laurens County’s first African American Extension agent\, there were no comparable sites available for use by African American youth involved in 4-H in Georgia until the formation of the Dublin 4-H Center. DESCRIPTION:Constitution Day\, Thursday September 17th at 2 PM\, Dublin will celebrate America’s 250th by putting down legacy roots in Mayor Grady Wright Park. Join the John Laurens Chapter NSDAR\, City of Dublin\, Erin Garden Club\, and community partners for the dedication of three distinctive Franklinia “Liberty Trees”. \nAn America Story\nThe Franklinia tree is a remarkable piece of Georgia’s natural heritage. Native to the Altamaha River region\, the tree was named Franklinia in honor of a friendship with Benjamin Franklin\, with the name also playing off the Altamaha where it was discovered in 1773. Last seen in the wild in 1803\, the species survives today through cultivation\, a testament to preservation and stewardship. After extensive preparation\, these special trees are traveling from a nursery in Tucker\, Georgia and will become a lasting part of Dublin’s landscape. As a Tree City USA community for twenty-six years\, Dublin is honored to help preserve this piece of Georgia history while creating something future generations can enjoy. \nPlanting History and Growing the Future\nThe tree planting ceremony will also feature a presentation by Dr. Heather Gladfelter of the University of Georgia\, whose groundbreaking research has explored the genetics and conservation of the Franklin tree\, and a patriotic performance by the Trinity Christian School Honor Choir. This free community event is presented by the John Laurens Chapter\, NSDAR\, in partnership with the City of Dublin\, Erin Garden Club\, and trees provided by Home 2 Suites by Hilton Corporation. \nThis event is one of several special Constitution Day events happening in Dublin\, GA! DESCRIPTION:September 17th at 3:45 PM\, join the John Laurens Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for Bells Across America\, a patriotic observance celebrating Constitution Week and the enduring principles upon which the United States was founded. \nLet Freedom Ring\nHeld at Railroad Park each year on September 17th\, this annual event commemorates the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17\, 1787. Communities across the nation participate in the observance by ringing bells at exactly 4 PM Eastern Time. In Dublin\, attendees will gather as a bell is rung 13 times\, symbolizing the original thirteen colonies and honoring the birth of our constitutional republic. \nThe ceremony will begin at 3:45 p.m. and feature patriotic songs performed by local schoolchildren\, historical interpretations in colonial attire\, and a reading of The Preamble\, reflections on the importance of preserving the freedoms and responsibilities established by the Constitution. \nThis year’s celebration has been enhanced as part of the nationwide commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary\, offering an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to connect with our nation’s history while joining millions of Americans in a shared moment of remembrance and patriotism. This historic occasion is an official Georgia US250 event.
