SUMMARY:Dublin Main Street Players
DESCRIPTION:Prepare for an evening full of hilarity\, good food\, and heartwarming family moments during the Dublin Main Street Players’ production of Over the River and Through the Woods on October 9th\, 10th\, and 11th! \nScene\nOver the River and Through the Woods\, written by Joe DiPietro\, is the classic story of deciding to leave home for the first time and the consequences\, good and bad\, of what follow. \nNick is a single\, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida. That doesn’t mean his family isn’t still in Jersey. In fact\, he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is routine until he has to tell them that he’s been offered a dream job. The job he’s been waiting for—marketing executive—would take him away from his beloved\, but annoying\, grandparents. He tells them. The news doesn’t sit so well. Thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around. How could he betray his family’s love to move to Seattle\, for a job\, wonder his grandparents? Well\, Frank\, Aida\, Nunzio and Emma do their level best\, and that includes bringing to dinner the lovely—and single—Caitlin O’Hare as bait…we won’t give the ending away here. \nCast of Characters\nNick Cristano – A guy in his late 2os looking for a fresh start. \nFrank Gianelli – Nick’s maternal grandfather\, an 80 year old immigrant from Italy. \nAida Gianelli – Nick’s maternal grandmother\, a woman in her 70s whose love language is caring for others\, especially through food. \nNunzio Cristano – Nick’s paternal grandfather\, in his 70s\, quite the charmer. \nEmma Cristano – Nick’s paternal grandmother\, a sweet schemer in her 70s that just wants the best for her grandson. \nCaitlin O’Hare – A charming woman in her later 20s. \nTickets\nShows will be held at Theatre Dublin. \nTickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Dublin Visitors Center\, Colleen’s China and Emerald City Treasures. \nDublin Main Street Players\nDublin Main Street Players is a local amateur theatre group which has been active for two decades\, delivering high energy shows such as Steel Magnolias Mysteries\, comedic skits from the Carol Burnett Show and lauded dinner theatre performances. \nPhoto Credit: Courier Herald via Facebook
