SUMMARY:Dublin Main Street Players
DESCRIPTION:Prepare for an evening full of hilarity\, good food\, and heartwarming family moments during the Dublin Main Street Players’ production of Over the River and Through the Woods on October 9th\, 10th\, and 11th! \nScene\nOver the River and Through the Woods\, written by Joe DiPietro\, is the classic story of deciding to leave home for the first time and the consequences\, good and bad\, of what follow. \nNick is a single\, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida. That doesn’t mean his family isn’t still in Jersey. In fact\, he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is routine until he has to tell them that he’s been offered a dream job. The job he’s been waiting for—marketing executive—would take him away from his beloved\, but annoying\, grandparents. He tells them. The news doesn’t sit so well. Thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around. How could he betray his family’s love to move to Seattle\, for a job\, wonder his grandparents? Well\, Frank\, Aida\, Nunzio and Emma do their level best\, and that includes bringing to dinner the lovely—and single—Caitlin O’Hare as bait…we won’t give the ending away here. \nCast of Characters\nNick Cristano – A guy in his late 2os looking for a fresh start. \nFrank Gianelli – Nick’s maternal grandfather\, an 80 year old immigrant from Italy. \nAida Gianelli – Nick’s maternal grandmother\, a woman in her 70s whose love language is caring for others\, especially through food. \nNunzio Cristano – Nick’s paternal grandfather\, in his 70s\, quite the charmer. \nEmma Cristano – Nick’s paternal grandmother\, a sweet schemer in her 70s that just wants the best for her grandson. \nCaitlin O’Hare – A charming woman in her later 20s. \nTickets\nShows will be held at Theatre Dublin. \nTickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Dublin Visitors Center\, Colleen’s China and Emerald City Treasures. \nDublin Main Street Players\nDublin Main Street Players is a local amateur theatre group which has been active for two decades\, delivering high energy shows such as Steel Magnolias Mysteries\, comedic skits from the Carol Burnett Show and lauded dinner theatre performances. \nPhoto Credit: Courier Herald via Facebook

SUMMARY:Spooky Treats in the Downtown Streets
DESCRIPTION:Creep into the heart of Downtown Dublin to fill your candy bags with boo-dles of treats during Spooky Treats in the Downtown Streets on Thursday\, October 23rd starting at 5:30 PM. \nSpooky Treats\nEvery year on the Thursday before Halloween\, children young and at heart don hair raising\, hilarious\, and downright adorable costumes and stroll the sidewalks of Downtown Dublin GA on the hunt for sweets and swag. Find smiling\, spooktacular faces of the staff of the downtown businesses greeting you from outside tables and handing treats to all the girls\, ghosts\, and ghouls. Even the waitstaff at the restaurants get into the Halloween spirit\, dressed to the nines in simple to sensational costumes. Follow all the leash laws and bring along your fur baby in a frightfully precious fit! \nTurn this jolly downtown jaunt into a sweets extravaganza by stopping into Scoops to partake in their candy wall or strolling up to the pink window behind the Fred Roberts for some Rosie’s Handmade Ice Cream. \nSweet Shopping\nWhile the sweets and treats are stacking up\, slip into the stores to find gourd-geous jewelry and clothes\, boo-nique gift items\, vintage goodies\, and more! Isn’t October a good time to start thinking about Christmas shopping? The kiddos will be so distracted by their bounty that they won’t notice you purchasing those stocking stuffers from Hello Sunshine Co.! \nKiller Bites\nAll that Halloween treat hunting have you building up a monsterous hunger? Before the kids stuff their faces with their sugary findings\, fill their tummies with bite-sized burgers at the Minute Grill. Or take a sackful of sliders from Jack’s Hamburgers to help fuel up while your precious monsters lurk for loot. A hearty meal at Miller’s Soul Food will keep them from munching up all the treats at once. After the romp around town\, grab yourself a treat from Crooked Finger Brewing\, Dublin’s family friendly brewery! \nBone tired after a fang-tastic evening of trick-or-treating? Book a room at one of our fa-boo-lous hotels! \nSee HERE what the locals say about their favorite fall activities in Dublin\, GA!
