In addition\, Georgia offers a Free Fishing Day in honor of National Hunting and Fishing Day on Saturday\, September 26th. Georgia residents do not need a fishing license for fishing on free fishing days on public waters. Residents can fish on any public waters in the state including lakes\, streams\, ponds\, and Public Fishing Areas (PFA). Residents do not need to obtain a Wildlife Management Area (WMA) license to fish on PFA’s or WMA’s . Take this opportunity to introduce someone to the fun of fishing! \nLaurens County\nGeorgia residents can fish without a fishing license at these locations in Laurens County: \nHugh Gillis Public Fishing Area\, located minutes from Dublin is a 109-acre lake and 640 acres of surrounding terrain. This breathtaking spot is managed to provide excellent fishing for anglers of all ages. Major species of fish in the lake include the largemouth bass\, bluegill\, channel catfish\, crappie and redear sunfish. \nRiver Bend Wildlife Management Area is located just 0.2 miles off I-16 on Exit 58. Explore unspoiled beauty at River Bend WMA. Formed by a clear-water spring that flows up at the swamp’s edge\, Troup’s Spring Lake provides ample stock of bass\, bream\, and other game fish. Rev it into high gear\, spin those wheels\, and let the gravel fly on Friday\, October 16th at 4 PM and Saturday\, October 17th beginning at 12 PM. \n9th Annual Shine in the Pines Truck Show\nGet an up-close and personal look at the big rigs at the 9th Annual Shine in the Pines Truck Show at Southern Pines Regional Park\, located minutes off I-16 at exit 51 at 575 Southern Pines Road in Dublin GA. .  \nEntry is FREE to the public. Parking is $5. \nFriday\, October 16th \nA night all up in lights? What a sight! Shining headlights\, taillights\, and chicken lights all ablaze as participants light up their rigs and compete in the Light Show at dark on Friday\, October 16th. Didn’t make it the first night?
