Visit Dublin GA announces Community Advocate Program designed to engage passionate Dublin residents.

Friday, May 24th 2024, Dublin, Georgia – Visit Dublin GA is thrilled to announce the Community Advocate Program (CAP), a dynamic initiative designed to engage passionate Dublin residents in promoting and celebrating all that our vibrant city has to offer, and sharing their enthusiasm. This exciting new program offers a unique blend of volunteer opportunities, social media engagement, and community involvement, aimed at showcasing Dublin’s charm and fostering community pride.

Miriam Lewis, Executive Director of Visit Dublin GA said, “I’m thrilled to introduce the Community Advocate Program. This initiative was born from brainstorming of our staff, with the goal of inspiring our locals to share the excitement and positivity that Dublin and Laurens County have to offer. We believe this program will not only highlight the happenings in our community but also foster a greater sense of pride and connection among our residents.”

CAP is a six-month initiative utilizing spirited individuals to actively participate in various activities that highlight the best of Dublin. Participants will engage in conducting community surveys, participating in promotional video and photoshoots, sharing updates from the Visit Dublin GA newsletter, and manning informational tables at local events.

CAP participant Matt Meeks states, “I have always loved this Community and took every opportunity I could to be a cheerleader for all things Dublin-so when I was asked if I would be interested in being part of the Community Advocate Program, my first thought was getting to do something I love with a group of other dedicated Dublin lovers. We intend to shout from the rooftops all Dublin has to offer. I’m excited to be part of this team, no CAP!”

In addition to these engaging tasks, advocates will enjoy perks throughout the program. Participants will kick off their journey with a start-up gift packet. Midway through the program, there will be a social hour for advocates to share their experiences and fun stories. Those who earn at an allotted threshold of points through various activities will be rewarded with a goodie basket filled with Community Advocate themed swag!

“I’m overly excited to be participating in the Community Advocate Program This is the perfect opportunity to connect with local companies and events within our very own community. Dublin has so much to offer and this program allows members to show off our goods!” said CAP participant Maritza O’Neal.

Points can be earned through various means such as volunteering at the Dublin Visitors Center, sharing event links, attending local events, and posting about favorite spots on Dublin’s walking tours and outdoor experiences. This point system not only encourages active participation but also ensures advocates are thoroughly engaged in the community.
