Head to the Laurens County Library on Saturday\, March 28th for a morning jam packed with FREE fun for all ages! \nPeruse booths from local and guest artists and other exhibitors\, visit dedicated fan tables with activities and a chance to win prizes\, and sit in for an exciting lineup of speakers. Past guest speakers included Regents Professor of Science Fiction Studies at Georgia Tech Dr. Lisa Yaszek\, Nebula-Award winning author and founder of SCAD’s Sequential Arts Program Bob Pendarvis\, Middle Georgia Paranormal Investigations\, Science Fiction Author Jack McDevitt\, and the authors of the Jekyll Island Chronicles! \n2026 Key Note Speaker\nAnderson Carman How to Make a Comic Book @ 11 AM\nGet an inside look at how a comic book comes to life\, from the first spark of an idea to the finished printed book. \nAnderson Carman is an award-winning Visual Storyteller specializing in traditional ink\, watercolor\, and digital illustration. He has worked with a wide variety of clients such as Coca-Cola\, Walt Disney Co\, Marvel\, Image Comics\, Penguin Random House\, Hulu\, and UGA Press. A SCAD: Atlanta graduate\, Anderson still lives in Atlanta\, GA\, with his wife and three kids. This sale combines the best of classics\, new releases\, and old favorites with awesome prices! \nSt. Patrick’s Used Book Sale\nFind a literary pot of gold at the end of the rainbow by visiting the book sale. With costs ranging from 50 cents for paperback books\, VHS tapes\, and audiocassettes to $1 for hardback books and DVD’s\, you will save a bundle! \nFeaturing books on cooking\, crafts\, kids\, and characters\, the sale will also feature fiction titles\, biographies\, VHS movies and audio books on cassette. Dublin’s original festival kicked off in 1966\, thanks to local radio personality\, Dick Killebrew\, who celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by playing Irish music and telling Irish stories and jokes. He felt the community should celebrate in honor of its Irish namesake\, and others agreed. The first festival lasted for 11 days and included a Parade and Pancake Supper which are still celebrated today. The Festival has grown and changed over the years\, and now includes six weeks of celebration.
