Downtown Dublin comes alive with the vivid sounds of an abridged version of Hansel and Gretel during a live performance by the Atlanta Opera in historic Theatre Dublin. Perfect for young children and children of all ages, this abridged version of a operatic favorite combines trickery, wishes, love and lots of laughter!
To celebrate its 40th year on the road, the 2019-2020 season features a new adaptation of Humperdinck’s enchanting fairytale Hansel and Gretel where students are invited to take centerstage alongside Atlanta Opera artists. Suitable for all ages, this Hansel and Gretel teaches valuable lessons about being polite, making friends, and not judging a Witch by her wardrobe.
Known throughout the region and across the nation, the Atlanta Opera has helped foster young talent internationally. Their educational workshop series aims to spread a love for opera to children by presenting shorter versions of classic tales, while giving singers, directors, and performers an opportunity to hone their skills.
Designed to travel, The Atlanta Opera Studio Tour productions are presented in schools and community venues across the state of Georgia each season. Educators are provided with comprehensive Study Guides which feature cross-curricular lesson plans and activities corresponding to the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
