Irish Spirit Meets Southern Charm

In Dublin, Georgia, St. Patrick’s isn't just a day; it’s a season. As you might guess from our name, Dublin’s roots run back to Ireland, and every year we celebrate this heritage with a festival that’s as full of life as any you’d find in the Emerald Isle itself. A Little Irish History in the Heart of Georgia Back in 1812, our town was founded on the banks of the serene Oconee River. The fertile land and strategic location made it a perfect spot for a community to flourish. Dublin was named by one of its founders, who, inspired by his Irish wife’s heritage, decided to bring a little bit of Ireland to Georgia. Today, we embrace that decision with open arms and Irish flags, especially as March approaches. Six Weeks of Green St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin stretches far beyond March 17th. Starting in February, we kick off an epic six-week celebration that truly honors our Irish namesake. Think of it as Mardi Gras with an Irish twist—complete with parades, green beer, and a whole lot of friendly faces. From the adorable St. Pawtrick’s Dog Costume Contest (yes, it’s as cute as it sounds) to the elegant St. Patrick’s Gala (where the town’s best hors d'oeuvres are served with a side of live music), there’s an event for every age and interest. Love hot air balloons? Don’t miss the Irish Balloon Fest and Glow, where colorful balloons light up the night sky to the sound of live bands. Parade and Pride The highlight for many is the Dublin St. Patrick’s Parade, where the community’s pride and joy march through downtown. Picture this: floats bursting with creativity, local bands playing upbeat tunes, and dancers decked out in green from head to toe. It’s our little way of bringing Dublin, Ireland,…
