DYK: Just north of the Laurens County Courthouse sat a bustling hotel of many names: Hooks Hotel, Central Hotel, Hilton Hotel, etc.

The hotel was lost to a devastating fire in the late 1800s. The location held Dublin’s City Hall for decades until it was moved into a former school building on Academy Avenue. The area now serves as convenient parking for visitors and locals to stroll around downtown.
