TrueSouth to feature the Minute Grill and other Dublin, Georgia businesses in upcoming episode.

Tuesday, November 7th, 2023 Dublin, Georgia – In April of 2022, four time James Beard award winner and writer, John T. Edge, traveled through Dublin GA while filming Season 5 of TrueSouth. TrueSouth is a show hosted by Edge showcasing a variety of different restaurants throughout the American South, sharing these restaurants’ stories, and discovering the culture, history, and true identity of the towns that house these restaurants. Following a tip from a viewer in his Instagram comments, he dined in Dublin’s very own Minute Grill. Edge’s experience at the diner and in the town left an impression that had him wanting to explore Dublin more in depth.

Edge and his film crew returned in April 2023 and interviewed several Dublin GA businesses and organizations, including Minute Grill, Miller’s Soul Food, First African Baptist Church, and Promise of Hope to be featured in Season 6 of TrueSouth. The Dublin episode will air on the SEC Network on November 21st, 2023 at 7 PM EST. In conjunction with each episode of Season 6, a limited collection will be offered to honor each town featuring a TrueSouth poster image, which is imagined, designed and created by a local artist. All proceeds from the merchandise sales will be donated directly to specific non-profit organizations local to each location.

To celebrate the premiere, Minute Grill will be streaming the Dublin episode at the historic Theatre Dublin on November 21st at 7 PM in Downtown Dublin. Doors will open at 6 PM, and concessions will be available for purchase. “We hope everyone will join us at the theatre downtown to watch the premier. We are very excited to be a part of this TrueSouth episode, along with our friends at Miller’s Soul Food, First African Baptist Church, and Promise of Hope.” said Minute Grill owner Donna Shinholster

Built in 1934, Theatre Dublin was originally known as the Martin Movie House, which operated through the end of the 1970’s and was revitalized in the 1990s as a performing arts venue. This historic theatre is now multi-use with both a performance stage and Georgia’s largest retractable movie screen. With 620 seats, spectators are invited to bring the whole family!

If you miss the premiere, the Dublin episode of TrueSouth will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
