Visit Dublin GA Announces Cycle 1 of FY25 Tourism Grant Program and is now accepting applications for funding requests.
Dublin, Georgia August 2nd, 2024 — Visit Dublin GA is now accepting applications for funding requests through its Tourism Grant Program.
The 2025 Tourism Grant Program is a grant funding program offered by Visit Dublin GA. The FY 2025 program funding was set at $15,000 which will be divided among awarded grant requests through two funding cycles. Applications are now being accepted for the first funding cycle with an application deadline of September 27th, 2024. Guidelines and access to the application are available at VisitDublinGA.org/discover-dublin.
“We look forward to supporting and promoting the organizations and events awarded grants through this process. We are excited to see and measure the economic impact these events will have on Dublin and Laurens County,” said Bill Brown, Chairman of Visit Dublin GA. According to reports provided by Explore Georgia, the tourism division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Laurens County has experienced two consecutive record-breaking years in tourism, with 2022 pushing 5% over one year prior. Visitor spending generated $7.6 million in state and local taxes, which is equivalent to $440 in tax savings for every household in Laurens County during 2022.
“The Tourism Grant Program allocates funds for marketing, product development, and other eligible expenses that stimulate local economic growth, by attracting more overnight visitors, and boosting the destination appeal of Laurens County.” Miriam Lewis, Executive Director of Visit Dublin GA expressed, “We are excited to offer a program that will enhance the tourism offerings in our area. The Tourism Grant Program is designed for qualified applicants whose projects or events clearly align with Visit Dublin GA’s mission to enhance the economic base of the community through tourism. Visit Dublin GA promotes Laurens County as a destination for tourists and conventions, invests in local community resources that encourage tourism and conventions, and coordinates and stages events with regional and state-wide interest. Visit Dublin GA is the marketing brand of the Dublin-Laurens Tourism Council, Inc., a 501(6) nonprofit organization.
