Miller’s Soul Food awarded $40,000 grant through American Express and National Trust for Historic Preservation “Backing Historic Small Restaurants Grant Program”

Thursday, July 7th, 2022 Dublin, Georgia: American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation announced their list of the 25 U.S. historic independent restaurants that will receive $1 million in grant funding through the “Backing Historic Small Restaurants” grant program. Miller’s Soul Food in Downtown Dublin, GA was the only Georgia restaurant that was awarded the allotted $40,000 grant! Historic Small Restaurants Grant Program was launched in 2021 to aid restaurant recovery amid ongoing challenges related to the pandemic. The focus of the 2022 grant program is awarding twenty-five independent, small restaurants that have been in business for at least twenty-five years, and operate in historic buildings or neighborhoods.

For almost 70 years, Miller’s Soul Food has been dishing up the ultimate meat & threes in downtown. From oxtails to pork chops and liver to chicken, you cannot go wrong in your selection. There’s the meats, but no meal is complete without three sides! Go for the collard greens for deep, dark flavor perfectly salted and Miller’s thick, rich macaroni & cheese with a side of black eye peas. This little restaurant sits tucked in the midst of Downtown Dublin where conversations are long, friends linger, and everyone has an opinion about what Miller’s cooks best. Take it from a local, and try everything they suggest.

“Dublin has become a dining destination for food enthusiasts from across the country, so it is thrilling to have our own Miller’s Soul Food not only stand the test of time, as one of the oldest and black owned eateries still in operation in Dublin, but also be recognized by the National Trust For Historic Preservation with this grant awarded” explains Miriam Lewis, director, Visit Dublin GA.
