First Friday Fun

Bring along the whole crew for Family Fun, Fun Night at Theatre Dublin on Friday, September 5th. Trivia, cartoons, karaoke, games, and more await in this historic theatre! Doors open at 6:15 PM, and the fun runs from 7 PM to 9 PM. Entry and entertainment are FREE, but don’t forget to bring a little moolah for the concessions!

Literally Literary

Starting Monday, September 8th, explore a wonderland of gently used and well loved books, magazines, tapes, CDs, and more at the Laurens County Library’s Fall Used Book Sale. Discover your next favorite genre or complete your collection for just pocket change, .50¢ to $1 per item. The book sale is held Monday through Saturday during regular business hours through November 1st. Small bills are preferred.

Swinging into Fall

Shake, shimmy, and swing to Theatre Dublin on Friday, September 19th at 7 PM to watch the Swingin’ Medallions live! Dance and sing along through the ages with the band that Dublin GA loves and loves Dublin GA. You’ll keep those toes a tappin’ with hits like “Double Shot” and “She Drives Me Outta My Mind”. Farm Festival

Welcome Fall down on the farm with a visit to Southern Cypress Christmas Tree Farm during the Farm Festival! On September 20th from 9 AM to 4 PM, pick out a gorgeous gourd in their pumpkin patch, peruse a huge assortment of mostly local vendors, take a hay ride with the family, and more. And talk about the perfect scenery for fall-tastic photos! Admission is $5. Kids 3 and under are FREE!

Fishing for a Good Time

Reel in something good at Hugh Gillis Public Fishing Area on September 27th during Free Fishing Day! For Georgia residents on National Hunting and Fishing Day, fishing on any public lands does not require a land pass or fishing license. Bring along the whole family for a fall fishing excursion, and don’t forget your rods and tackles! Bring along a tent and take advantage of Hugh Gillis PFA’s campsite and amenities to complete the outdoor adventure.

*Cue Hamilton music* How does an artistic, eccentric, sister of five, and a Cajun, dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in a Southeastern state by parental job prospects, end up Visit Dublin GA’s Project Manager? Fresh from graduating with her bachelor’s in psychology, Arilyn Erickson started work at Visit Dublin GA in December of 2021. Her love of helping people, knowledge of Dublin, curiosity, and creative spirit are exhibited in her ability to ensure guests are well informed and comfortable, contribute fresh ideas for improving the Visitors Center and developing tourism products, and promoting local businesses, locations, and events via our website and social media. Arilyn enjoys singing to the plants in the Visitors Center gardens (the Rosalynn Carter Pollinator Pitstop was one of her first projects), playing with traveler’s furbabies, posting aesthetic photography (especially food and unique outdoor scenes), and creating extra punny blogs.
