1. Pot of Gold

Chase rainbows figuratively to find a pot of gold at Perry Ellis International in Dublin GA. Outside the center is lushly landscaped with waterfalls, a large koi pond, benches, and lots of water lilies. It’s the perfect spot for a selfie or feed the koi a few Cheerios. Located at 2815 GA-257.

 

2. Cross Roads

Take the trip to Dudley, Georgia. This 116 year old town is home to about 500 people and has its share of unique sights. At the cross roads of US Hwy. 80 and Hwy. 338 stands Doug’s Convenience Store where you’ll find a landmark of a sign: A huge cross proclaiming “Jesus is Coming Soon.” The work of Doug Bailey, this two story sign is almost 30 years old.

 

3. Friendly Gus

It’s not just locals. Ask most travelers of I-16 and they’ve experienced the fried chicken and tater logs at Friendly Gus. Located just off I-16 at exit 51, this gas station serves up hot, fresh fried chicken and thick batter dipped potato wedges daily. 4. Cross The Creek Cemetery

History runs deep at ‘Cross the Creek Cemetery where African American history awaits discovery. From World War veterans to the grandparents of World Boxing Champion Sugar Ray Robinson, the Historical Society and City of Dublin are working to restore this cemetery and uncover the identities of those buried here. Located on Parker’s Dairy Road, this cemetery was the primary African American cemetery until H.H. Dudley established a private cemetery in the early 1930s. Today, a new sign, directory, and benches have been installed where visitors can enjoy the serenity found only “across the creek.”

 

5. Pop of Color

Nestled at the intersection of Country Club Road and Blackshear Ferry Road is a little known spot with gorgeous views of the Oconee River, a boat landing, and a pop of local color. From boats to kayaks, this is an ideal spot to launch your exploration of the river. Over time, locals have marked their visits on a concrete block which changes with the tides.
