Visit Dublin GA announces Sippin’ Among Shamrocks campaign to highlight the restaurant district in Downtown Dublin

Dublin, May 8th, 2026 – Visitors and locals alike are invited to experience downtown in a new way with the launch of Sippin’ Among Shamrocks, an educational campaign designed to highlight and promote Dublin’s Restaurant District.

The campaign brings awareness to the designated downtown area where guests can purchase an alcoholic beverage from a participating establishment and enjoy it while strolling between restaurants, and public spaces within the district boundaries. The name Sippin’ Among Shamrocks is a nod to one of downtown Dublin’s features, the iconic shamrocks painted along the streets each year in preparation for the St. Patrick’s Festival.

“Sippin’ Among Shamrocks is all about enhancing the downtown experience in a way that’s fun, walkable, and easy to understand,” said Miriam Lewis, Executive Director of Visit Dublin GA. “We realized there was an opportunity to better communicate how the district works so both visitors and locals can fully enjoy it with confidence. We took notes from other cities around us, where restaurant districts and open container zones have successfully enhanced downtown vibrancy and visitor engagement.”

The campaign features a dedicated landing page that includes a simplified explanation of the city ordinance, a visually engaging map outlining the district boundaries, and clear guidelines for participation. The goal is to provide an accessible resource not only for visitors, but also for local businesses and staff who regularly field questions about the district. As part of the rollout, the campaign has been fully branded, with Sippin’ Among Shamrocks merchandise set to be available soon, further extending the identity of the district and creating a fun, recognizable experience for visitors.

“This is the kind of atmosphere that you see in places like Savannah, so why not create a similar experience right here in Dublin?” said City Manager Josh Powell. “Our restaurant district has been in place for many years and we appreciate Visit Dublin GA  making the community aware of it and also promoting it and our downtown to visitors. It is just one of the ways we encourage people to not only come downtown to eat, but to take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and shop around at our great local shops!”

By making the guidelines more approachable, Visit Dublin GA aims to encourage increased walkability and connectivity between downtown businesses, especially during popular events such as First Friday at Market on Madison, the summer music series hosted by the Dublin Downtown Development Authority, and Dublin’s multiple festivals.

Within the district, guests may enjoy one alcoholic beverage at a time in an approved cup while walking between destinations during designated hours, as outlined by city ordinance.
